Kalady: The Nada Thurappu festival starts at 8 pm on 11th January in Thiruvairanikulam Mahadev Temple. There will be lakhs of devotees from Kerala and outside, visiting the temple these days. The nadapanthal of around 20,000 square meter area is ready to occupy 50,000 devotees.
The trust will be offering free anna danam on all the festival days. Special counters are set up to distribute prasadams such as aravana payasam, avil and unniyappam. “All arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Nada Thurappu festival at Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple are ready”, Temple trust officials said. The temple of Sreeparvathi Devi will be opened for only 12 days in a year.
The thirvuvabharana procession will start at 4 pm on January 11. Thanka gola, Thanka chandrakala, thanka kireedam, thirumukhama etc will be carried ceremoniously to the temple. There will be thalam, pookavadi and percussion team to accompany the procession. The nada opening will be at 8 pm after the thiruvabharanam reaching the temple.
As part of the preparations, the Southern Railway will be offering special stops for several trains at Aluva. KSRTC will operate special services from Aluva, Perumbavoor, Ankamali, Paravoor, Chalakudi, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Kollam depots. There will two temporary bus stations functioning near by the temple. More than 300 policemen will be on duty under the leadership of Aluva Rural S.P and Perumbavoor DySp. Facilities will be ready for parking around 1500 cars.
